November
As an art quilter, I thought it might be interesting to other quilters to journal the progress of one quilt. The quilt I selected to
follow is entitled "Thirty Days Hath November" and was completed in 30 Days. I refer to the quilts as 30DHN in this log.

Nov. 1 — Picked 4 leaves from my maple tree, scanned and printed them onto the card stock.
Nov. 2 — Cut out 4 paper positives and 4 negatives from the scanned leaves on card stock.
Nov. 3 — Sorted fabrics and dyed some of the cotton fabric. Cut fabrics into retangular patches measuring 8x9 1/2".
Dyed patches.
Nov. 4 — Called Carolyn Fellman, curator of the show to be held at the Florida Craftsmen Galleries, St. Petersburg,
Florida.
Nov. 5 — Worked on another quilt — thought about 30DHN and worked out some details in my head.
Nov. 6 — Shopped for fabric for 30DHN.
Nov. 7 — Prepared gelatin plate for printing (reference — "Making Monotypes ' Nancy Marcluewicz")
Nov. 8 — Printed all day on paper, fabric and plastic.
Nov. 9 — More printing.
Nov. 10 — Selected and cropped prints.
Nov. 11 — I'm visualizing the quilt to be viewed rom either side. Best displayed back lit as well as front lit.
Nov. 12 — Sewed individual layers of the patches together.
Nov. 13. — Getting self-conscious about 30 DHN, best I work on another quilt.
Nov. 14 — Made a template for positioning the patches. Trimmed and sorted the patches cpmprised of paper, plastuc and fabric.
Nov. 15 — Thought about the problem of the realtively heavy paper with the sheer fabric.
Nov. 16 — Rested
Nov. 17 — Cut, trimmed individual patches.
Nov. 18 — Cut, trimmed, sewed patches, stabilizing the format.
Nov. 19 — Eliminated some of the plastic patches.
Nov. 20 — More sewing.
Nov. 21 — Rested.
Nov. 22 — Cut and positioned patches.
Nov. 23 — Used a stencil I made to apply acrylic paint to the quilt.
Nov. 24 — Sewed and painted for an entire day.
Nov. 25 — Rested - Thanksgiving.
Nov. 26 — Worked in gallery space that I share with my sister Jean Cocuzza. www.sistersgallery — stoudtburg.com
Nov. 27 — Finished edges of patches and quilt border by tapping raw edges with acrylic medium.
Nov. 28 — Gallery again.
Nov. 29 — Finished assembling 30 DHN.
Nov. 30 — Double stitched edges of quilt, trimmed edges.
